Medical marijuana bill to be debated soon in Parliament

Attorney General, Dale Marshall, says the law to pave the way for medicinal cannabis will be laid in Parliament tomorrow.

He told the annual general meeting of the local media association last night that the challenge is to get people to understand that it is not a move to make cannabis legal for recreational purposes.

He also says that there is not enough manpower within the Royal Barbados Police Force to deal with the level of corruption in Barbados, which he says is becoming more sophisticated.

According to Mr. Marshall, the relevant Department in the Police Force currently only has three members of staff and it is therefore necessary to bring people from abroad to assist.
